ORTHODONTIC TREATMENTS FOR ADULTS

With an increased awareness of the benefits of a beautiful smile, almost 50% of our Orthodontic patients are now adults. Such patients require only minor tooth movement, and others, major surgical cases with dento-facial deformities. Because adult are no longer growing, treatment is approached differently than with children.

Our Specialist Orthodontists carefully formulate adult treatments, after offering their patients different options based on their dental concerns. Many adults do not want to have regular braces due to social concerns. In such cases, we offer INVISIBLE LINGUAL braces and INVISALIGN aligners

Types of braces

  • Metal Braces-Metal braces are the most traditional type of braces, consisting of stainless steel brackets and wires, with coloured bands that apply pressure on the teeth.
  • Ceramic/Clear Braces-Clear braces are very popular among adults and appearance – conscious teens, as they are almost invisible on the teeth. They are made of ceramic material that match the colour of the teeth, with tooth-coloured wires and clear elastic bands.
  • Lingual Braces-Lingual braces are specialized metal braces that are placed on the inside of your teeth, making them invisible from the outside. Lingual braces aren’t for everyone, especially if you have small or crowded teeth. They are mostly used by popular personalities for whom appearance is paramount, such as actors, models, presenters and other public figures.
  • Invisalign-Invisalign is a patented system of braces that uses a series of clear plastic aligners that progressively moves your teeth to the desired position. Each set of aligners is moulded to fit your teeth correctly and are worn for about two weeks. After a fortnight, these are replaced by tighter sets at regular intervals, during the course of the treatment. You are required to visit a certified orthodontist to check if you are a suitable candidate for the Invisalign® treatment.
