ORAL DIAGNOSIS

All patients coming to our hospital are first directed by our front office staff to the department of oral diagnosis where the patients’ complaint is first recorded which is followed by an in detail dental and medical history and a thorough examination of the oral cavity

The Oral Diagnosis department concentrates on oral mucosal diseases, potentially malignant conditions such as OSMF, leukoplakia, erythropkakia, lichen planus etc., orofacial pain disorders, saliva problems like xerostomia and oral complaints that may reflect either local oral disease or oral manifestation of systemic diseases. Potentially malignant condition like oral submucous fibrosis, leukoplakia, erythroplakia, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus . These conditions carry an increased risk of malignant transformation and are present as grey, white or red patches in the oral cavity. Such conditions are usually not noticeable by individuals as they do not have any associated symptoms in their initial stages. The department of oral diagnosis is actually involved in the awareness and treatment of such conditions.

At Ramam’s Advanced Dental Care, we believe that you should be able to base your dental care decisions on the knowledge and understanding you gain from a variety sources and not solely on recommendations from your dentist. We want to show you first-hand how we can help and what is going on with your dental health. This is why we've invested in the intraoral high-resolution camera— a highly advanced hand piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you to see what exactly the dental surgeon sees inside your mouth with extreme precision.

ORAL DIAGNOSIS

While X-rays and mirror exams provide valuable information about your teeth that you cannot get from any other source, it doesn't show everything going on inside your mouth.

The intraoral dental camera handpiece is approximately the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source and up to 50 times magnification that allows the dentist to take high-quality images of your teeth surfaces and give you a “video tour” of your entire mouth. The images are displayed in full-colour on a wide screen monitor to allow you to see problems such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque DEPOSITS, cavities, excessive wear, occlusion issues, prematurities etc…

DIGITAL RADIOVISIOGRAPHY

Digital Radiovisiography is the latest X-ray technology in dentistry. It utilizes special software designed for image clarity and analysis. In most cases, this technology is preferred over traditional X-ray. Advantages to using a Digital Radiovisiograph include:

  • Patient has less exposure to radiation
  • Images appear immediately, without the need for film and development
  • Safe to use with children due to low radiation
  • Allows patient to see the problem and understand the diagnosis
  • Images are adjustable for better clarity
  • Images can be easily saved and shared with other professionals
